DABBAWALLA

(908) 918-0330. ïïïFood from a variety of Indian regions, served in metal dabbas used by workers (dabbawallas) to deliver meals to offices around India, is the trademark of this restaurant. But it's the food that will have you returning, whether it's the braised beef and pumpkin lonvas ($19.25) made with a rainbow of spices; shrimp in coconut curry ($21.25) or the Indian version of Chinese cuisine, such as sweet and sour pork ($19.25) in tomato sauce. Desserts can be ordered from Birdy's bakery next door, which is connected to the restaurant, but make sure you try Dabbawalla's bibinca ($7.75), a warm blend of stacked pancakes and coconut. Reservations are taken only for parties of 10 or more.
